Editor's Viewpoint: A welcome return

To say that pianist Barry Douglas is passionate about music is an understatement. He feels that it not only provides great entertainment but also helps to develop self-esteem and personal and civic pride. Just returned from a tour of South America and the USA he is bringing Camerata Ireland to Londonderry for a one-off concert.

His renown is worldwide, yet Barry continues to support the arts here and performs regularly in his native province. We are lucky to have a musician of his stature lend his talents to developing classical music here. Fame and fortune have not dimmed his love for Northern Ireland and for that, audiences and performers should be very thankful.
