Editor's Viewpoint: Against all odds

The Olympics always produce stories of great human achievement and already several have emerged from the London Games.

One of the most inspiring is that of Kieran Behan, who represented Ireland at gymnastics. Following an operation years ago that went wrong, he was told by doctors that he would most likely be confined to a wheelchair for life.

However, with great courage, he fought back to follow his dream of become an Olympic gymnast. His appearance at London has won the admiration of everyone who sees in his achievement the personification of the Olympic spirit.
