The streets of Belfast are alive with the sound of rock and pop music as the Tennent's Vital and Belsonic festivals get into full swing.
And it seems that every week there is some new explosion of popular culture in the city. While it may be difficult to sustain in terms of purely balancing the books, we should enjoy the fun while it lasts.
Having been a cultural desert for decades, Belfast is now attracting some of the leading lights of the music industry.
It would be folly not to join in.
