Editor's Viewpoint: Boxers get lippy

Much of the appeal of professional boxing lies in the fact that it is a strange mixture of showbiz glitz and sheer brutality.

Seldom is a bout undersold, either by the promoters or the contestants, so it was no surprise to see Tyson Fury and Kevin Johnson trade insults and predictions of victory ahead of their fight on Saturday. Johnson certainly has the better line in patter and hurls insults about in a manner reminiscent of Muhammad Ali in his heyday. But the Louisville Lip was always able to back up his words with action inside the ring.

Johnson can talk the talk, but will he be a winner or the one with the fat lip after the bout?
