Editor's Viewpoint: Come on, Down

The attraction of sport is its uncertainty as well as its skill, courage, and determination. All of these were evident in the pulsating semi-final at Croke Park |yesterday, when Down edged out Kildare.

The prospect looms of an exciting final next month, and the Down side will go back to Dublin with the support and good wishes from many thousands of supporters and well-wishers in the North, and from both main communities.

There have been past glories for earlier sides from Down, and the current squad have shown what it takes to succeed at the highest level.

There is one hurdle remaining, and the message from this side of the border is an enthusiastic “Come on, Down!”
