Editor's Viewpoint: Driving optimism
Recession, what recession? That was the message from top end German car manufacturer Audi when it really put on the ritz to open its newest Belfast showroom.
Champagne, fine food, pop stars and chauffeur-driven luxury limos were the order of the day.
It was certainly a bold statement of intent — and hopefully of confidence — by the manufacturer that customers will still want its marque no matter what the state of the economy. Certainly the investment in the city — and the new Titanic Quarter — is very welcome. Let us hope that the party continues well after the celebrities have left town.
