Editor's Viewpoint: Hard act to follow
Colin Firth is now at the very pinnacle of the acting world, laden with awards for his performance in The King's Speech, including the coveted best actor Oscar. No doubt every director and script writer will be inundating him with potential roles hoping to capitalise on his new-found golden lustre.
What he has to avoid is being typecast as the quintessential Englishman, having played Mr D'Arcy in the past and now King George VI. What about an action role such as Superman or part of the Die Hard series? After all, he is younger than Bruce Willis or Sylvester Stallone who have cornered the hardman roles lately.
