Editor's Viewpoint: Irish eyes smiling

The brave men in green certainly answered Ireland's call in the Rugby World Cup with an inspired victory over the much-fancied Australians in a pulsating game on Saturday.

Ireland like nothing better than being underdogs, but their performance against Australia showed they are a force to be reckoned with. However, therein lies the danger.

There is no room for complacency if they want to go much further this time on the world stage.

Back home, and in New Zealand, they will retain the full backing of all Irish people who have been absolutely thrilled by their monumental victory.
