Editor's Viewpoint: Let his star shine

Published 22/06/2011

Yet again sports throws up a remarkable story.

A 17-year-old Gaelic football-playing Catholic from Northern Ireland has signed professional soccer forms with Glasgow Rangers, for so long a bastion of Protestantism and still the favoured team of people of that religion in the province.

Let us hope that he fulfils his promise and becomes the soccer equivalent of our other bright young star, Rory McIlroy.
