Editor's Viewpoint: March madness

The old adage about March coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb has been well and truly turned on its head this year.

After a glorious start to the month with more than a whiff of spring in the air, we have suddenly been plunged into Arctic conditions, with inches of snow falls in many parts of the province and the rest of it being swept by gale-lashed rainstorms.

Whether due to global warming or merely the natural rhythms of nature, we have endured some extreme weather conditions in the past year and thoughts of a sunny Easter break have now been put on hold. The Easter Bunny, if it has any sense, will be holed up in a nice centrally-heated hutch.
