Editor's Viewpoint: No place like home

Our Time Our Place is the proud slogan of the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and one which it seems our MLAs are only too willing to share.

For a majority of those approached by this newspaper say they preferred to holiday at home this year - even if a number of nationalists included Donegal as a staycation destination. It probably feels like home to those with all-Ireland aspirations.

The politicians should be applauded for braving the terrible weather to holiday here. After all, it's not as if they are short of cash or have little free time on their hands to enjoy foreign breaks.
