Editor's Viewpoint: Reinvent the wheel
Belfast's Big Wheel was loved by many and hated by others. The one thing no one could do was ignore it.
But soon it will be only a memory as the owners plan to dismantle it midway through next month. The exact reasons why it is going are not clear, but it is certainly a shame that it is going.
Cities should contain surprises. That is part of their attraction. One should always wonder what is around the next corner.
In its short history the Big Wheel became part of the fabric of the city and a tourist draw. The trick now will be to find a similarly exhilarating replacement.
