Editor's Viewpoint: Rodgers the Red

It is not only in arts that Northern Ireland excels but also in sport. And the latest star to hit the headlines is Carnlough man Brendan Rodgers who is to become the new manager of Liverpool, one of England's top football clubs.

He is the epitome of a modern manager, embracing modern methods and believing in the beautiful game.

His rise to the top of the game has been meteoric and while he faces an immense challenge in his new job, there are few who would bet against him becoming a success at Anfield given what he achieved on a shoe-string budget at Swansea.
