Editor's Viewpoint: Running heroines

Despite yesterday's inclement weather more than 1,000 women took part in the Belfast Telegraph RunHer event at Stormont.

Females of all ages were involved, including well-known political and media personalities. However this was an event for everyone, and while some took part in a competitive spirit, others were happy to take a more leisurely approach and to enjoy the scenery.

Whatever the pace, the main unifying factor was that everyone was raising money for charity, and simply by taking part, everyone was a winner.
