Editor's Viewpoint: Walking the walk
The lengths some people will go to in aid of a favourite cause never ceases to amaze. And as our feature today reveals, pensioner John Cross has gone further than most to raise funds for Action Cancer. He is nearing the end of a 450 mile walk around Northern Ireland which must make him the fittest 68-year-old in the province.
He is a shining example to everyone, for, as he says, there are few people here who have not been touched in some way or other by the scourge of cancer. We could all do more to aid the work of charities and researchers seeking to develop new therapies or caring strategies. And we don't need to do anything more strenuous than put our hands in our pockets.
