Editor's Viewpoint: Wooed by Clegg

It seems that voters in the province are as enchanted by Lib Dem leader, Nick Clegg, as the electorate in Britain.

Our poll published today shows that he is the most popular choice for Prime Minister. Of course, being Northern Ireland, the two communities have differing opinions, with Protestants preferring David Cameron over Clegg and Catholics opting for Clegg ahead of Gordon Brown.

But surely the most perverse finding was that only a bare majority (53%) of Ulster Conservatives and Unionists voters want to see Cameron get to Number 10. Clegg polled 32%. Hardly a ringing endorsement of the two party alliance.
