Northern Ireland is remaining in Europe - the soccer team that is. The qualification for the final 16 stage is just reward for a team which has given its all in the competition to date.

The team may have won only one match but there is no disgrace in losing to Poland or world champions Germany and in both instances the players showed their pride in their country and more than repaid the huge travelling support.

With their next opponents due to be Wales or France, the men in green and white know they face another stern test.

But winning such tests is how immortality is gained and the team of 2016 can continue to write its name in history.
