Everyone should take heart from couple's lessons in love
Today thoughts turn naturally to the meaning of love and how to keep the spark in a relationship alive. If anyone should know it is Belfast couple Albert and Elaine Magill who have been married for an incredible 70 years.
In an increasingly commercial world, it is heartening to hear that it is not material things that make a partnership work but rather mutual respect or, as Albert more pertinently puts it, acknowledging that his wife is always right, even when she isn't. That may be a slightly tongue-in-cheek appraisal but it shows the value of compromise and acceptance that a long and happy partnership takes work. Flowers today will not go amiss either.
