Fishermen's friends

Only the families of those who man our trawlers fully appreciate the dangers that fishermen face on a daily basis.

There is scarcely a port in the UK where tragedy has not struck at some time and in many cases it has been the Fishermen's Mission which has come to the aid of the family at a time of emotional and financial trauma.

Now four women from Kilkeel are among the UK-wide Fisherwives Choir which is releasing a charity single to raise money for the organisation. Whatever your taste in music this is a record worth buying, for instead of the revenue going to some faceless corporation or dissolute band of rockers, it will help fund a very worthy body which can provide a lifeline to families in distress.
