The death of Tyrone singer Ivan Vaughan, drowned while returning from a gig on Sunday night, is a terrible tragedy for his wife Letitia, whose first husband died from cancer at the age of only 41. Her description of waving goodbye to him through the window earlier that day, never once thinking that she would never see him again, shows the fickleness of fate.

By all accounts Ivan was a born entertainer, appearing with such well-known acts as Dave Glover and The Plattermen. Music was in his blood and he constantly rehearsed and refined his art. It's poor consolation, but he died doing what he loved best at the age of 70.
