The Russians are coming was a phrase of the Cold War which was used to strike fear into the heart of the western world.

Today relationships between Russia and the west are strained due to different allegiances in the Middle East, but we welcome the influx of people from the former Soviet empire.

As our Life cover story today shows there is a growing Russian community here and that adds to the multi-cultural life of the province.

The ethnic groups who come here expand our knowledge of foreign cultures, food and languages. And this weekend the first Russian fair to be held here will give visitors a sample of all three. Go along for a new experience.
