Give what you can for brave Scott's epic undertaking
Forget the Giro d'Italia, Scott Harkins from Belfast is about to take part in the world's toughest cycle race – the 3,000 mile Great Divide ride in Canada.
If the length of the race or the terrain, which sees riders climb 200,000ft in 25 days, doesn't take its toll, the riders also face potential encounters with bears, rattlesnakes, mountain lions and wolves.
But Scott has already won a far tougher race – for his life. He is a cancer survivor who was given the all-clear 10 years ago and is now taking part in this marathon cycling competition to raise funds for the Marie Curie organisation. He is a volunteer with the RNLI, so he is a man well used to giving back to the community. He deserves every support for his efforts, so give generously for a great cause.
