Gloria, the ultimate trouper, never forgets her Ulster roots

Editor's Viewpoint

Published 21/04/2015

Gloria Hunniford is the ultimate trouper. Less than 48 hours after suffering a severe hand injury which required surgery, she was back in front of the cameras, giving her usual consummately professional performance.

Aged 75, but looking years younger, she knows that the world of television entertainment waits for no-one, even someone as popular and talented as herself. She still has the enthusiasm and the drive to keep performing and gives value for money.

She has overcome great difficulties in her personal life, chiefly the death in 2004 of her beloved daughter Caron Keating, but is certainly one of life's survivors. And unlike so many so-called celebrities has never forgotten her Ulster roots or her Ulster fans.
