Golden girl Bethany's hard work should be recognised

Huge congratulations are due to our star swimmer Bethany Firth, who won an amazing three golds and one silver medal at the Rio Paralympics.

She was a given a rousing welcome on her return home yesterday, and even upstaged the Hollywood superstar Kim Cattrall on her arrival at Belfast City Airport. Much attention is given to the heroes of the Rio Olympics, but people ought to realise that the Paralympic competitors have to work even harder for success and recognition.

This is all the more reason why we should congratulate Bethany, and her family and supporters, on such a truly outstanding achievement.
