Golf tournament a fitting tribute to brave wee Oscar

Oscar Knox was a remarkable little boy whose doughty fight for life against an aggressive form of childhood cancer touched the hearts of thousands. His passing two years ago was met with widespread sorrow.

He may be gone, but his name and his courage lives on and he is now to be remembered by an annual golf tournament. This is a fitting memorial to the little boy as sports stars were among those most keenly struck by his plight, as well as being among his greatest admirers.

It will also be a way to remind us of the horror that many parents go through while watching their children battle a lethal disease.
