Northern Ireland faces a challenging draw for the next World Cup, and their opponents include world champions Germany, the Czech Republic and Norway.

The games against Germany may bring back memories of stirring victories in our home and away triumphs in the qualifiers for Euro '84.

Northern Ireland are doing more than well in the current European Championships, and qualification there will bode well for similar success in the World Cup. Whatever happens, the loyal band of supporters will have to dig deep yet again for the away games, not least when the men in green go on their 5,400-mile round trip to Azerbaijan.
