Five years ago Christopher Connor died when he stumbled and fell in a disused hotel in Portstewart, leading to the coroner at his inquest to call on the owners of vacant properties to ensure that they were properly secured. Now, Christopher's sister says the boarded-up hotel is again accessible, raising the potential of another tragedy.

She has done a public service in reminding property owners of the coroner's remarks. The collapse of the property market here some years ago left many unfinished buildings around the province. Their owners must keep them as secure as possible to keep people from entering and possibly doing themselves harm.
