Help us scale the heights with sunflower challenge

We are asking our green-fingered readers to reach for the stars. Well, perhaps not that high, but we are looking for Northern Ireland's biggest sunflower.

We will even provide the seeds. All the readers need supply is the nurture. While this is a fun competition, it also has a serious side.

Encouraging people to put Northern Ireland in bloom is instilling civic pride and also a sense of achievement.

Seeing a forest of sunflowers in gardens around Northern Ireland undoubtedly will make all of us feel good, as well as bringing colour to the landscape.

And even if you don't win our competition, you may gain an even greater prize – the delight of gardening.
