In the swim for kids
When people here get involved in raising funds for charity, the don't do it by half. Our Life cover story today is one example. Four intrepid swimmers will attempt to cross the English Channel later this month to boost the coffers of the very worthy Northern Ireland Children's Hospice. That is an institution which delivers on a daily basis great care and comfort to life-limited young people and their families.
A Channel swim, like an ascent of Everest, may seem commonplace, but it can be very dangerous and it certainly strains those taking part to the limit. But it is a challenge which the foursome are really looking forward to and we wish them every success in their endeavours. And perhaps all us landlubbers will make it worth their while by contributing to their fundraising.
