Jeanie’s ordeal highlights dangers facing pedestrians

Published 27/04/2015

Jeannie Johnston, the former UTV reporter, has had the nasty experience of being knocked down by a biker while walking along a pavement in Belfast.

To add insult to injury, the offender rode off and left Jeannie on the ground. Fortunately a kind couple came to her aid, though she was too shocked to ask for their names.

She would like to get in touch to thank them, and also to obtain, if possible, a picture of the biking offender. The current initiatives to protect cyclists on our roads are both commendable and important, but pedestrians also need to be protected from irresponsible bikers too.
