John's dream of lifesaving air ambulance must be fulfilled
In the midst of their grief, the family of Dr John Hinds, the trauma specialist killed in a crash when providing medical cover at a motorcycle race meeting, have shown enormous dignity. Their sincere gratitude to all who tried to save John's life and comforted them after his death comes through in every word of their open letter, published today.
But we can do more, by insisting that John's dream of an air ambulance for Northern Ireland is fulfilled as soon as possible.
John dedicated his life to saving others and improving roadside trauma services. The only argument against an air ambulance is cost, but what price do we put on human life?
