Knighthood is due recognition of Van the Man's musical genius

No longer is he just Van the Man, but Sir Ivan Morrison, arguably one of the greatest musical exports this province has ever produced. The son of a shipyard worker he is cited as a seminal influence by many of today's pop stars, yet remains a unique sound fusing many genres of popular music. His knighthood is due recognition of a special talent.

Noted for his taciturn nature and unsmiling expression, he could not contain his enjoyment at receiving his knighthood from Prince Charles and even shared a few words with the waiting media. Wouldn't it be great if there were more days like this?
