Latest accolade a glowing reflection on Dark Hedges
The people of north Antrim have long known of the beauty of the Dark Hedges, that iconic avenue of trees planted by a local estate owner in the 18th century to impress visitors to his demesne.
But now it is impressing a global audience with the prestigious Architectural Digest published in America listing the row of beech trees in its top 10 beautiful streets in the world.
The Dark Hedges' global fame is due in large part to being chosen as one of the Northern Ireland locations for the Game Of Thrones fantasy television series. It has proved to be not only a great advertisement for the cultural life of the province, but also its tourism.
