Let's hope someone can shed light on glitter ball of love
In a world where terrorism, storms and water shortages make the headlines, it is good to know that romance is still alive.
The support group which is pressing for the Floral Hall in north Belfast to be restored are now looking for the jewel in the crown of that famed former dance hall. The glitter ball which cast its light for a large part of the last century on so many couples treading the dance floor is missing, with differing accounts of where it was last seen.
The group's quest is a shining example of the power of nostalgia. They have been wooed by tales of how their parents or grandparents met in the art deco ballroom and would dearly love to recreate those past times.
The Floral Hall is part of the city's heritage - but will it have a glittering future?
