Letting James win once would be big symbolic gesture

The Sham Fight at Scarva every July is aptly named, for we all know in advance who is going to win. King William has been victorious every year for nearly two centuries, probably the greatest winning streak in the history of warfare. Yet it still continues to draw large crowds and has become something of a tourist attraction.

But if the Royal Black Institution really wants to widen its outreach perhaps it might consider bending the rules - and the historical facts - a little and letting King James win, even once. What a great symbolic gesture that would be towards a shared future. Can't see the traditionalists buying it, though.
