Liam Neeson ensures Northern Ireland continues to punch above our weight

At a time of his life when it might be expected that his career would be slowing down, Liam Neeson now finds himself among the top earning Hollywood A-listers.

Last year he earned an astonishing £21m, making him the sixth highest paid male film star. Some going for a 62-year-old.

That is a tremendous tribute to the Ballymena man's talent and rapport with cinema audiences.

And he is also a star who has never forgotten his Northern Ireland roots and who uses his fame to promote the province.

He is one of our finest ambassadors and, like our golfers and other entertainment stars, this one-time boxer proves that this little corner of the globe punches well above its weight.
