It was a milestone which often the Knox family thought they would never reach.

Little Oscar, the brave little boy who has battled back from the brink of death from a rare form of cancer several times, is five and enjoyed a traditional cakes and fun party.

But his battle goes on. He was given the all-clear but the disease returned and Oscar has to endure gruelling chemotherapy therapy.

His determination has won the hearts of thousands of people who have also admired the courage of his parents who have done all in their power to give their eldest child a fighting chance. Oscar continues to make the most of his chances and his spirit is an inspiration.

May he have many more birthdays.
