Long to rain over us

The old adage had it that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.

Sadly this year we've been having the lion's share of bad weather with little prospect of spring-like conditions before the month's end. Indeed the warnings are of frost and snow.

What a difference from last year when temperatures during the month reached over 20C. Whatever happened to those dire predictions of global warming and melting polar ice-caps leading to land masses being submerged by rising sea levels? We are more likely to find ourselves under water from the incessant rain.
