Magnificent Irishmen suffer last-minute agony

As an example of gut-wrenching drama, the rugby encounter in Dublin yesterday between Ireland and the All Blacks had everything.

Ireland were literally one boot away from history, with New Zealand snatching a dramatic victory with only seconds to go.

Ireland were terrible against the Australians the previous week, and they began as underdogs yesterday.

However, no-one can write off Ireland when their backs are against the wall, and yesterday they were magnificent against the champion All Blacks. They were so unfortunate to lose, but such is the heartbreak and magic of sport.
