MLA is one of many who are facing a lonely festive season

It will be lonely this Christmas for DUP MLA Jim Wells, whose wife Grace is still recovering in a care home from heart surgery and three strokes. She was a supreme home-maker, but now the house is empty and Jim would rather stay in his Stormont office than ramble through it alone. He will spend time with family and Grace over the holidays, but the empty house always awaits.

There are many like him who will remember when their homes echoed with the chatter and laughter of family at times like Christmas but who now spend most of their time on their own. A simple visit or even a telephone call could make all the difference to their lives.
