Modern man no longer a dab hand around the house

We all know that Prime Minister David Cameron is no dab hand at DIY since he couldn't even fathom that a power cut in his home was caused by a tripped switch.

But he is not alone in that. Today many men – read today's Life cover story – will readily admit that even quite mundane tasks are beyond them.

Perhaps there is not enough emphasis on vocational skills in school.

And they certainly know how to put a good price on their skills – which oddly never seem to include time keeping.
