In today's world, keeping up appearances is not just the preserve of women. Beauty products for men fly off the shelves and some it seems are prepared to go to any lengths to maintain their boyish looks.

Take Jason Shankey, a man who makes his living ensuring other men look their best when they leave his barber's shops. Having already undergone a hair transplant to restore his luscious locks, he is now preparing for a second procedure to combat an impending bald spot on the crown of his head.

Gone are the days when the comb-over - allied to a liberal dab of hair wax - was man's only option to hide impending baldness.
