Mother's dedication pays dividends for little Callum

Callum McCorriston has got his first bicycle at the age of six thanks to the love and determination of his mother. The Limavady boy, who has a time-limiting muscular dystrophy, didn't have the strength to pedal a bike - something most children and their parents take for granted - until given a new wonder drug.

His mother campaigned for two years for him to be given the medication, which also gives him greater mobility.

The smile on the little boy's face as he plays with his new bike is priceless, and no doubt his mum, Laura, feels all the hard work has been more than worthwhile. We all hope that the improvement in Callum's condition is sustained.
