No place in today's society for attacks on Orange halls

Published 27/06/2016

The dastardly arson attack on Muckery Orange hall in Co Armagh at the weekend was the 10th reported targeting this year of property which is owned by the loyal institution.

This was no accident, and it is clear that there is a concerted attempt by trouble-makers to raise tensions during the annual traditional marching season.

This behaviour must be stopped.

It is clear that a concerted effort is needed by the police, politicians and community leaders to crack down on those who are co-ordinating the attacks.

This is a time for a shared society for all.
