No Strictly title, but being game makes Ed a winner
One of the most popular BBC television programmes is Strictly Come Dancing, which keeps viewers on the edge of their chairs while well-known public figures join with the professionals in competing for the title.
One of the stars this year has been Ed Balls, the politician and former Shadow Chancellor, who was eliminated last night after a lengthy run in the series.
Ed was by no means the best dancer, but he had the courage of risking his reputation as a serious figure by entertaining millions, like everyone's Dad who dances at the family wedding. Sometimes the losers can be winners too.
