In today's newspaper we report on the deep loss being felt by the television presenter Zoe Salmon on the untimely death of her mother only a month ago.

Her grief is shared by her father and her sisters and brother, and this applies not only to her family but also to others throughout the land, and from all backgrounds, who have to bear the burden of bereavement.

Zoe Salmon is one of those young women who would appear to have much of life's good fortune, but like so many others, she is discovering that grief is the great leveller.

Our hearts go out to Zoe and her family, and to all the others who are dealing with the loss of a loved one.
