Owners warned not to bark up wrong tree when choosing a pet
A new study has indicated that the border collie is the top dog, because of its intelligence, obedience and life-span, but experts have warned that it would not necessarily make the best family pet.
Parts of its strengths are also its weaknesses. A border collie needs high stimulation and abundant exercise, which many families could not provide.
Happily, however, one expert suggests that there is a family pet for everyone, and that one of the most important factors is temperament.
So dog-lovers should consider this, before barking up the wrong tree.
