Peter's response to disability a true inspiration to others

Londonderry man Peter Mitchell is remarkable. At 18 he was living the dream as a Premiership footballer but that glittering life was snatched from him in an instant. A car crash left him paralysed but, crucially, it didn't break his spirit.

A supportive family and later a wife gave him the incentive to overcome his disabilities and his dark days. And a series of lucky breaks - allied to natural talent - found him a new role as an actor, even appearing in Coronation Street. Now he is making a documentary on how he and other disabled people coped, which hopefully will inspire those who are still coming to terms with their disabilities.
