Planned Titanic replica can only be good news for Belfast
The Titanic is the legend that keeps on giving. More than 100 years after the original sank in the Atlantic on its maiden voyage, images of a replica vessel planned to take to the sea in 2018 have been released.
Already the subject of two major films and worldwide centenary commemorations, it seems that a global audience has an insatiable interest in anything that is connected with the ill-fated liner.
It was a ship, in the minds of the public, like no other, and the replica, if it does set sail, will attract a waiting list of passengers. It will also mean more positive publicity for Belfast, the city where the original was built.
