Plush hotel taps into market for expensive bottled water
Most of us get our drinking water straight out of the tap or in economy bottle packs from the supermarket. But now it seems that we are missing out on a product that is as varied as wine. For the humble aqua has been elevated to five-star status by Belfast's Merchant Hotel, which even has a menu devoted to it.
Fashionable diners can now sip water gleaned from millennia-old glaciers or made from maple sap, for example. The hotel will even have wine butlers to guide the uninitiated through the choices.
Could this inspire our politicians at Stormont to start charging for our tap water?
